Thing Stool

A series of conversations between George Sowden and the two co-founders of raawii, Bo Raahauge Rasmussen and Nicholai Wiig-Hansen, has resulted in Thing, a collaborative product they launched at the 2022 Salone following their friendship and sharing of ideas developed over the years. After accumulating experience designing for big firms, designers Sowden and Wiig-Hansen took the lead in creating, making and distributing their own products through the own brands Sowden and raawii.

Thing is an expression of this approach to development and production, independent of one manufacturer. Thing is a multi-use object, a stool, a small table – whatever it finds use for. It is made of 100% recycled aluminium with the exception of the silicone feet. Once the various parts are bolted together it can be used both indoors and outdoors – and even be left in the rain.
